The invention of Mother’s Day
Anna Maria Jarvis May 1, 1864 Webster, Taylor County, West Virginia, U.S.
Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia, whose mother had organized women’s groups to promote friendship and health, originated Mother’s Day. On May 12, 1907, she held a memorial service at her late mother’s church in Grafton, West Virginia. Within five years virtually every state was observing the day, and in 1914 U.S. Pres. Woodrow Wilson made it a national holiday.
Although Jarvis had promoted the wearing of a white carnation as a tribute to one’s mother, the custom developed of wearing a red or pink carnation to represent a living mother or a white carnation for a mother who was deceased. Over time the day was expanded to include others, such as grandmothers and aunts, who played mothering roles.
What had originally been primarily a day of honor became associated with the sending of cards and the giving of gifts, however, and, in protest against its commercialization, Jarvis spent the last years of her life trying to abolish the holiday she had brought into being.

Seamless White Style
Seamless white is a photography style that is the basic beginning of what a fine art is. Using a white background and lights that are pointed at the back drop, you blow out the back drop making pure white with no seams showing.
When making prints this is optimal for placing these images in a frame and allowing the white background to blend in with the usual white walls you find in a home. Combined with the simple portrait, nothing fancy, no glamour poses just beautiful you and your family.

Momma Tracy & Her Daughter
Here is another Mom who’s life has seen tragedy. Tracy’s heart has been tested time and time again and stands tall and proud of her accomplishments in her family, and she should. Tracy is so caring and has an amazing way of brushing off the bad things and focusing on herself and her family, and such a beautiful one it is. We love you Tracy!

Amy’s daughters are probably so wonderful due to Amy’s calm and strong demineur, hard work ethic and her commitment to professionalism and never choosing “good enough” as good enough. This woman and her incredibly wonderful Mother can teach us all how to travers this insane life.
